This year’s Spot on Award for Dedication to Changing Australia’s Skin Cancer Landscape is awarded to a clinician/researcher whose work is paving the way to improve early detection and build a targeted melanoma screening program. This clinician/researcher has built an incredible multidisciplinary team, leading an inclusive and consultative project bringing together expertise across dermatology, AI, data, health economics, epidemiology and a top notch consumer group, for a research project that is recruiting the world’s largest melanoma cohort study – 15,000 individuals across metro, rural and regional Australia. This research is producing incredible results.

In 2018 this clinician/researcher was awarded a $9.9m infrastructure grant by the ACRF and has established and is now leading the Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis (ACEMID).

The 2024 Spot on Award for Dedication to changing Australia’s skin cancer landscape is Professor H Peter Soyer.

This award is carefully selected by the MSCAN Board.
