2025 MSCAN Rising Star Award
Supporting the next generation of research leaders

MSCAN is backing Australia’s brightest clinicians and researchers.
In 2025, we’re launching MSCAN’s Rising Star Award. It’s awarded to the most outstanding research project for a cure for melanoma.
MSCAN’s Rising Star Award will be awarded at Parliament House in Canberra in late November 2025.
A dedicated selection committee will assess the emerging talent using selection criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this award, the nominee must:
- be under 40 years of age
- have conducted more than 50% of the work in Australia, although international collaborations may have occurred
- a higher research qualification is not a prerequisite, but if completed, candidates should be less than 5-years post higher degree or equivalent clinical qualification (e.g. College Fellowship)
- have published the work in at least abstract form ≤24 months from the application date
- be employed within an Australian institution at the time of application.
