The early detection of skin cancer is important as it can be highly treatable in its early stages. Ensure you see your GP or dermatologist for a comprehensive skin exam before you start checking your skin on your own, to ensure you understand the condition of your skin and to check for any changes.
The best way to find a problem is to self-examine your skin regularly, with a full self skin examination at least four times per year.
When you check your skin, note your mole patterns, freckles, and other spots. Take photos, which will help you notice changes over time.
