Are you passionate about using your voice and lived experience to make a difference?
The Melanoma and Skin Cancer Advocacy Network (MSCAN) is seeking consumer/lived experience advisors to join its Community Action Team (ComAct).
About the ComAct Team
The MSCAN Community Action Team (ComAct) is dedicated to driving transformative change in the melanoma and skin cancer landscape. Through meaningful advocacy and action informed by lived experience, ComAct aims to improve outcomes for individuals and communities affected by these conditions. By amplifying the voices of those with direct experience, the team works collaboratively to influence better support, care, treatment and awareness.
Individuals with lived experience bring an incredibly valuable and unique perspective to MSCAN. The group is passionate about advocating for all Australians under the sun. ComAct perspectives and priorities are shared with the Melanoma & Skin Cancer Nurses Organisation (MSCNO), MSCAN’s Clinical & Research Advisory Committee, MSCAN staff and the MSCAN Board. This helps MSCAN to drive policy change to create a better health system and improved health outcomes.
Lived experience encompasses first-hand knowledge of any type of melanoma or skin cancer, including less common types (such as Merkel Cell Carcinoma, Uveal melanoma etc). It can include your own encounter with melanoma or skin cancer or being involved in the healthcare journey as a family member, carer, friend.
